Totally Awesome Coat Dress

December 28, 2015

I have been wanting to make a coat dress for awhile.  Since this is a bigger project, I decided to get a Marfy pattern, #3222.  When I got the pattern, I did not yet have fabric for it.  I found the perfect fabric on ebay, a Pendelton wool that is sort of a plaid pattern… Read More Totally Awesome Coat Dress

A Cardigan for My Sweetie

December 24, 2015

Mr. Kiri Knits has been slow to let me make things for him.  In fact, I think I have only ever made three or four things for him (and not just because I am a selfish sewer).  What really made him start to appreciate the potential for custom-made clothing was the coat that I made… Read More A Cardigan for My Sweetie

A Knitted Vest for My Mom

December 3, 2015

This is a somewhat belated birthday present for my mom.  She requested a copy of a vest worn by her yoga instructor.  I picked a nice neutral color so that it would go with lots of tops.  The yarn is the classic Cascade 220. The construction is very simple.  Although I love sewing, I do… Read More A Knitted Vest for My Mom

About Me

I am a weaver who longs to make beautiful and useful things. I love that weaving is a very precise craft that relies on a fair amount of math. I love the motion and rhythm of winding a warp and throwing a shuttle. I love starting with a draft and seeing the design I saw in my mind become a tangible piece of cloth. My love for the my craft goes into everything that I make.

In addition to weaving, I also sew, spin, knit, and dye– almost anything fiber related!
