This has actually been finished for awhile, but it’s taken me awhile to write about it. You can read about my process for this quilt in these previous posts (here and here). I LOVE how it has turned out! It makes me happy every time I look at it, and I love that I can tell exactly what each scrap was from.
As discussed earlier, I decided I did not want to quilt it myself because it was so large. I found a local long arm quilter, and she was able to quilt a nice hearts and paisley pattern for me. The back is two different colorways of a fun butterfly pattern. I wanted something really pretty for the back since this is such a special quilt for me. For the binding, I bought a fun purple print because I felt like purple was (unsurprisingly) the predominate color.
The quilting was finished shortly after our wedding in May, but we had to wait to get our new bed so that we could use it. I actually have another quilt top started already– it’s a very special one because it contains the quilt squares we had our wedding guests make in lieu of signing a book.
